The CATI Interviewer position will provide support to the University of Wisconsin Survey Center (UWSC) Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) department supervisors for all the CATI projects that are performed in the CATI Lab.
This position will be responsible for the following:
Administer academic survey research over the telephone with respondents. Respondents are typically aware of their participation in the project prior to our calling, and in some cases, respondents are given a monetary incentive after participation in the survey.
Projects in 2025 included the Mid-Life in the United States (MIDUS) and Wisconsin Longitudinal Study (WLS), two comprehensive longitudinal studies that concern aging and cognitive decline, the Family Health study (FHS), and many others.
Assist in the training of new interviewers.
Adhere to UWSC standards relating to confidentiality and study protocols.
This position reports to the CATI Supervisor, Cory Schmidt. A typical schedule is 9-5pm Monday through Friday, though we can accommodate other types of schedules and are very flexible with scheduling.
The UWSC CATI Lab is open 76+ hours every week, and 7 days a week, from 9am – 9pm M-F, 10am – 6pm Saturday, and 1pm – 9pm Sunday, and schedules can be built from those hours of operation.

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $19.95 - $24.76 per hour for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications.

Ability to develop rapport with respondents over the phone
Data entry proficiency with attention to accuracy

Experience in a call center or social science research environment
