We have transitioned our space into a brand-new concept, and we’re looking for high-energy people to help us bring it to life! We have launched into a spirited, Southwestern-inspired restaurant and bar that is heavily BBQ-forward, where the vibe is casual and modern. While we’re evolving our identity, we’re dedicated to keeping the quality- not just in the ingredients, but with our staff as well! The menu contains things like slow-cooked meats, Tex-Mex and Southwestern inspired dishes, and some fan favorites from our other restaurants. This will be a menu that is inclusive of gluten-free and allergen-friendly diets, so we’re looking for people who are as committed as we are to providing a safe environment for the guests who have these requests. On the bar side, we will have many kinds of beers, a menu of crafted cocktails, and a heavy focus on fresh margaritas. We need a team that is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and genuinely enjoys the hospitality industry as we aren’t looking for corporate robots; we want people with personality- Especially people who can help us establish a new culture from day one, and people who can make the workplace feel like a haven, rather than a chore. Even if you come into your position not knowing everything, we provide plenty of training and coaching to make sure that you feel confident- because when you’re confident, you’re successful. TITLE/JOB DESCRIPTION: Bartender

Are you quick on your feet, and thrive in a positive and fast-paced environment? Are you great with people, and communication? Come join our team, and let’s get this money together!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a guest-forward atmosphere, where the guest and their experience are the sole focus
• Prepare handcrafted margaritas, Southwestern-inspired cocktails, and pour craft beers with speed and precision
• Provide full-service dining at the bar top and tables, including food service and menu descriptions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area at all times
• Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age and practice responsible alcohol service
• Prep house-made syrups, fresh juices, and garnishes daily
• Manage bar tabs and process payments accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere

PREFERRED:

• Strong knowledge of craft beer, tequila, and classic cocktails
• Enjoy and have the ability to create/collaborate on cocktail menus and featured drinks

REQUIREMENTS :

• High school diploma or equivalent, and must be at least 21 years or older
• Proven experience bartending, hospitality, and restaurant experience with knowledge of food service
• Proficient in basic computer and math skills
• Strong teamwork, conflict resolution, and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently behind a busy bar while prioritizing guest’s needs
• Being able to maintain a high level of hospitality and friendly demeanor
• Strict adherence to measured pours and recipe standards to ensure consistency
• Physical stamina to stand, reach, and lift kegs or cases of liquor throughout a shift
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, team members, and guests
• Cicerone Certified Beer Server certification within 90 days of hire date
• Deep understanding of food allergies and a commitment to following strict cross-contamination protocols, and ability to be trained
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
• SERVSAFE/TIPS certified or ability to obtain certification within 30 days
• Willingness to participate in trainings regarding alcohol, allergens, pairings, menus, etc.
• Fluency in English
• Driver's license and reliable transportation
• Desire and ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the restaurant

We specialize in draft beer from American craft breweries. You can find a large selection of beers from Michigan and find drafts which you may not find anywhere else. Our taps rotate daily with a mixture of stouts, IPAs, porters, sours, ciders and meads.
Brown Iron Brewhouse is not only a tap house but also brews in-house as well with a variety of beers on tap. Each small batch uses the finest ingredients to create the best craft beer possible.
Smokehouse Cuisine
We said we love great food and we mean eat! We specialize in fresh food made daily. Enjoy our pulled pork, brisket, “beer-can” chicken or bacon smoked fresh in our smoker each day. Enjoy a fabulous salad, ground brisket burger or house-made pretzels. We specialize in Gluten free so you can find something for a special diet. Our dressings and BBQ sauces are made from scratch here at Brown Iron too!
