Position Summary

The Senior Accountant plays a hands-on role in preparing financial statements, analyzing costs, and supporting the month-end close process. This position bridges transactional accounting and management reporting, providing critical insight into job costing and operational performance across multiple landscaping divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1) General Ledger & Close

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for monthly close.
• Ensure accuracy of multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions.
• Support the Controller in variance analysis and reporting.

2) Cost Accounting & Job Costing

• Partner with operations to ensure accurate project-level accounting in Aspire.
• Review labor, materials, and subcontractor costs against estimates and budgets.
• Prepare Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules and margin analyses by service line.

3) Compliance & Reporting

• Assist in audit preparation and respond to auditor requests for supporting documentation.
• Support sales/use tax compliance and property tax filings.
• Maintain adherence to internal control policies and approval workflows.

4) M&A & Systems

• Assist with post-acquisition accounting clean-up and system conversions.
• Help implement standardized accounting policies across acquired entities.

5) Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA a plus.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, landscaping, or PE-backed companies.
• Experience with job costing and multi-entity consolidations.
• Strong Excel and ERP skills; familiarity with Aspire and Intuit Enterprise Suite preferred.
