Job Description

Salary: $105,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:

• Extensive experience in Python for backend engineering
• Proficient in API design and development (REST, JSON, OpenAPI)
• Solid background in system design with a focus on scalability and fault tolerance
• Familiarity with platform engineering and constructing shared backend architectures
• Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps methodologies
• Bachelors or Masters degree from a Canadian university or college
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience within financial services or fintech domains
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to security standards and high-availability systems

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Python
• Create and administer RESTful APIs and backend integrations
• Engage in platform engineering initiatives to enhance reliability and scalability
• Lead discussions regarding system design for distributed architectures
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver complete solutions
• Enhance performance, security, and observability of backend services
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
