IT Director  

  • Full-Time | Hybrid
  • Location: Oklahoma City, OK
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Salary: $135,000 / yr.

  Position Summary

Dale Rogers Training Center (DRTC) is seeking an experienced and mission‑driven IT Director to lead all aspects of the agency’s information technology operations. This position is responsible for strategic planning, IT governance, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, business applications, and end‑user support across the organization. The IT Director ensures that technology systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with DRTC’s mission of empowering individuals through meaningful work.

This role provides leadership, oversight, and direction for the IT department while partnering with agency leadership to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and improved service delivery.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in a technology‑related field required; MS/MA preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as an IT Manager or similar leadership role
  • Proven experience leading analysis, design, implementation, and support of enterprise IT systems
  • Broad understanding of enterprise technology environments including hardware, software, networking, cloud services, and end‑user systems
  • Strong working knowledge of data architecture, system integrations, application development, and operational support
  • Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity principles, risk management, and industry best practices
  • Experience developing and managing IT budgets and aligning technology investments with organizational priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, projects, and vendor relationships
  • Ability to interpret business documents, operational procedures, contracts, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to produce clear, professional reports, policies, procedures, and executive‑level communications
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set direction, manage teams, and drive accountability
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid Real ID compliant - Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass extensive background checks

Essential Responsibilities Include:

Leadership & Governance

  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of all IT functions, including infrastructure, cloud services, telecommunications, mobile devices, and SaaS systems
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with DRTC’s mission and long‑term goals
  • Create and maintain a multi‑year IT roadmap supporting agency growth, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and governance practices in collaboration with executive leadership
  • Participate in agency strategic planning and provide technology‑related insights

Technology Operations & Infrastructure

  • Oversee servers, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance, security, and effectiveness
  • Identify technology gaps, system limitations, and upgrade opportunities
  • Lead end‑user support initiatives to ensure staff have reliable and secure tools

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Oversee cybersecurity initiatives, including monitoring, threat mitigation, and incident response
  • Ensure compliance with NIST, PCI, and other applicable standards
  • Maintain and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Business Applications, Automation & Integration

  • Manage business applications, reporting systems, and data integrations
  • Drive automation and reporting initiatives to improve data quality and operational visibility
  • Support application development and modernization efforts

Vendor & Project Management

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, consultants, and service providers
  • Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services
  • Lead IT projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with agency priorities
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

Supervision & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for IT staff
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ancillary Responsibilities
  • Participate in strategic agency planning
  • Keep the Executive Director informed of financial and operational matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Agency Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of DRTC’s Mission, Values, and Core Values
  • Comply with all DRTC policies, procedures, safety protocols, and organizational structure
  • Understand and comply with DDS, DRS, AbilityOne, and Source America requirements
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive agency information
  • Use agency tools and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy
