Within the HIM Department—often called Medical Records—the HIM Director will guide end-to-end records management, documentation integrity, privacy, release of information, scanning/indexing, data governance, and coding/CDI alignment for a hospital recognized as a Best-In-State Hospital , supported by a full staff and empowered by state of the art technology that advances accuracy, compliance, and operational performance across the continuum of care.
Reporting directly to senior leadership such as a CFO, COO, or VP of Revenue Cycle, the Health Information Management Director partners closely with Compliance, Quality, IT, Case Management, Patient Access, and Revenue Integrity while collaborating daily with friendly nurses and a diverse team of physicians, APPs, and allied professionals; as the Health Information Management Director, core responsibilities span HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 adherence, information blocking and Cures Act readiness, clinical documentation improvement, coding quality (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), RAC audit response, physician documentation optimization, release-of-information timeliness, data integrity, EHR workflows, and dashboard-driven KPIs that uplift reimbursement accuracy, safety, and patient-first outcomes.
