About the Opportunity

A mission-driven organization in the Greater Philadelphia area is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their finance team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Record-keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records
  • Record daily financial transactions, including income and expenses
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process invoices and ensure timely, accurate payments
  • Manage invoicing and track incoming payments
  • Follow up on outstanding balances as needed

Reporting & Budget Support

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports (income statements, balance sheets)
  • Track expenses to support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Support audit preparation and year-end reporting processes

Data Entry & Documentation

  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation

Compliance & Process Support

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and financial regulations
  • Assist with documentation for audits, grants, and reporting requirements

Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams to support financial operations
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with accounting software and financial systems
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
